Art-music afternoon in Schoonhoven

On January 26, 2025 there was an art-music afternoon in Schoonhoven. In a full living room there was a varied program with harp, flute and piano. There were also poems and someone told about the work of a silversmith.

I made music for my painting 'healing'. Healing pools with fascinating colours in Iceland are the inspiration for this large canvas, in which many different materials are used. including: sand, stones, straw, pasta, copper-gold paint and Icelandic lava powder.

The music I chose was by Arvo Part, 'Spiegel im Spiegel'. A fascinating minimalist piece of music. The repetition works meditatively. It allows the mind to come to rest. In my eyes a perfect combination of image and sound.

Afterwards, many people reacted enthusiastically, but also emotionally.
